Welcome to the Oblates of Saint Francis de Sales, Toledo-Detroit Province website!  We are a Roman Catholic, religious community of men, founded by Fr. Louis Brisson, OSFS (1817-1908), inviting the world into a relationship with Jesus Christ through the charism and spirituality of Saint Francis de Sales.

Four Men Profess Vows
09 profession

L to R - Joseph Newman, David Patterson, Robert Lockwood, Erik Jorge
August 2009 - On Saturday, August 22, David Patterson, Erik Jorge, Robert Lockwood, and Joseph Newman took vows of Poverty, Chastity and Obedience for the first time and became members of the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales.  The ceremony took place during the celebration of Mass in the Chapel of St. Francis de Sales High School in Toledo.  To prepare for this event each man lived for one year with Oblates as a first year student or postulant and then spent this past year as a novice, living in community and studying the Oblate Rule and other material necessary to make profession of vows.  Each of the newly professed has a bachelor's degree and two have master's degrees.  This upcoming year, David will be teaching Theology at Lumen Christi High School in Jackson Michigan, Erik will be studying at Sienna Heights University in Adrian Michigan, and Robert and Joseph will be studying Theology at St. Michael's in Toronto.
